Circular MatZero
The MatZero Pledge · Document

A commitment to close the loop in everything we build.

The MatZero Pledge is a public commitment by engineers, designers, founders, and operators to hold materials decisions accountable to circular principles. It costs nothing. It demands everything.

A pledge is not a marketing artefact. It is a constraint we voluntarily impose on our work — and that we expect to be held to.

I.

Design with end-of-life in mind.

I will treat recoverability as a first-order design requirement — not an afterthought, not a compliance line item.

II.

Measure what I make.

I will quantify and disclose the lifecycle impact of the materials and systems I build. Transparency is the engine of accountability.

III.

Favour recovery over extraction.

Given a choice between virgin and recovered material of equivalent fitness, I will choose recovered. Where it isn't yet equivalent, I will engineer it to be.

IV.

Hold performance and circularity as equals.

I reject the premise that sustainability requires technical compromise. The work is harder; the standards stay high.

V.

Build durable capability.

I will share methodology, tools, and lessons learned. Circularity is a collective discipline — siloed knowledge is wasted leverage.
